Diana Ross – ‘I’m Coming Out’

Gay pride comes early this year.

Aside from being a fun gay anthem, ‘I’m Coming Out’ is built on a tight guitar riff, tumbling percussion and silky horns. The drum breakdown and the trumpet solo are as fun as it gets. The icing on the cake is Diana Ross’s upbeat and sweet vocals. Even though this song wasn’t written as a gay anthem (at least not on the record), but it’s hard to imagine a pride parade without it.

Also, here’s one of my favourite videos on the internet: Diana Ross attempting to score a goal at the World Cup in LA in 1994 while singing this song.
