Kylie Minogue – ‘Cupid Boy’

I’m a big fan of pop music and, for my money, Kylie Minogue reigns supreme. In her extensive discography, Aphrodite is the standout and CRIMINALLY underrated (due to a couple of marketing blunders some of the best singles of 201o didn’t get a fair shot at the charts). Of the non-singles on the album, ‘Cupid Boy’ is the highlight.

This lyrical content is pretty lightweight, as it often is in pop music, but Stuart Price’s production elevates into the stratosphere. The big build from the bridge into the chorus is the best part and is waaaaaaaay better executed than most dance pop of that era.
